Providence College is committed to meeting the medical needs of its full-time undergraduate students by requiring that they have comprehensive health insurance coverage. To assist students in meeting this requirement, Providence College offers a Student Health Insurance Plan underwritten by Consolidated Health Plans. University Health Plans is the broker and may be contacted for answers to insurance coverage questions or issues with the waiver or enrollment process.
Providence College undergraduate students registered for at least 9 credits (or 3 courses) are automatically enrolled in and billed for the Student Health Insurance Plan, unless an online waiver is completed by July 1st each year. The Bursar’s Office mails waiver/enrollment information out in June – please refer to these documents for further information.
If you are currently insured and wish to waive enrollment, please note:
- Not all plans provide comprehensive coverage in Rhode Island such as out-of-state Medicaid plans, and certain HMOs and managed care plans. Be sure to check with your insurance company before waiving.
